  • I like to lead my students through different types of art so they can have a rounded experience and be pulled out of their comfort zone. During our weeks together we will use different media like watercolor, canvas paint, oil and chalk pastels, clay, and more. I have a heavy emphasis that just like we each look and sound different, everyone’s art will be different as well. We will start the semester by looking at different figures in art history to show that each person’s perspective of “beautiful” is different but admired by many groups. Examples will be Davinci, Picasso, and Andy Warhol to more contemporary artists like Tafy LaPlanche, Romero Britto, and Bansky. Throughout the semester following a step-by-step method, students will learn how to draw, mix colors, and apply brushstrokes to their masterpieces. This allows your child to see their project take shape from beginning to end.

  • ALL supplies are Included in the class price.

  • This class does not have graded projects. I can provide a scale of how well students are following directions, their class conduct, and the effort being given by students if parents would like. I feel that graded work takes away the joy and freedom of creativity.
